Lone has been with the Willow Team since before the clinic opened and was pivotal in getting us up and running. She has many years of experience in administrative work and is the mother of a midwife so working at the clinic is a natural fit.
In 1999 Lone had the life-changing experience of being present at the midwife-attended birth of her grandson. Having witnessed its growth in BC since then, Lone continues to be a passionate advocate for midwifery.
Melanie Van Geest
Melanie comes to us from Vancouver, having moved to the Okanagan in 2011 to escape the big city life. While having years of hospitality experience under her belt, Melanie has always been interested in women's health and sexual education. Working for the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV and AIDS (St Paul’s) and volunteering for the SAFE (Sexual Awareness For Everyone) clinic in Whistler, BC, are experiences she holds dear.
After the birth of her first child, she completed her MOA certificate at BCIT and was employed with UBC, temping in various hospitals in Vancouver. Working with the UBC Midwifery program, and the BC Women's Centre for Reproductive Health solidified her focus to work in the area of women's sexual health.
