I have been working in the birth world for over a decade now. After the birth of my kiddos I trained as a doula in 2010, supporting Vancouver Island families’ transition into parenthood. My love for birth continued to grow, and in 2016 I was accepted into the UBC Midwifery program, which I graduated from in 2020.  The program provided me with many learning opportunities, from rural and remote work in Haida Gwaii, to following obstetricians with complex maternity cases.

In 2020, I joined Sooke Midwifery. As an indigenous midwife, I saw the importance for birth to be supported on traditional lands. I was able to offer out reach care by traveling to Port Renfrew and offering antenatal and postpartum care to families of Pacheedaht Nation in their community.

My family has enjoyed many summers in the Okanagan, and are thankful and honoured to now live and work on the ancestral and traditional territory of the Syilx Nation.

I am passionate about working with all families, but feel drawn towards working with people who have previously had a cesarean section and would like to attempt a vaginal delivery with their current pregnancy. I have such gratitude for the families who I am blessed to care for during such a vulnerable and transitional time.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time hiking, camping, painting, cooking, and treasure hunting at local thrift shops.
